Buffet Clarinet Clarimate Digital Mute
MYR 1,330.003BCCMK
The ClariMate is a digital practice mute (also described as a “connected mute” or “hybrid instrument”) made by Buffet Crampon. It attaches between the mouthpiece and the barrel of a Bb or A clarinet (using the Boehm system). It stops the reed from vibrating the usual way (or prevents audible acoustic sound escaping), and instead uses internal sensors to detect what note you are fingering, how much you are blowing (breath pressure), and also “active reed / embouchure placement” (or something similar) to produce a digital sound.
Advantages:
Silent practice - you can practise without disturbing others, a huge benefit for people living in shared housing or practicing late.
Immediate feedback & clean finger training - because the device requires you to use correct fingering (and can show you what note you are playing via app), it's good for building accurate technique.
Versatility — you can use it not just for practice, but also for creative work: recording via MIDI, using different instrument sounds, or playing with accompaniment tracks.
Portability — a fairly compact device; once set up, you can use it wherever (with headphones).
